I pursued a career as a health, safety and environmental officer because I believe that it is vital for employees to have a safe place to work. I have worked hard to earn certificates like NEBOSH (IGC 1,2,3), IOSH, Authorized Gas Testing, First Aid/CPR with AED, Fire Warden and also to learn all I can about the potential hazards often found in the workplace.
I have a good eye for detail and can often spot problems that others would overlook during inspections. I have the knowledge to put together a plan to correct any problems found and then make the corrections in a timely fashion to ensure the safety of the workers. I also have the training needed to investigate accidents to determine the cause and then to create and execute a solution, so it will not happen again.
I have excellent communication skills with the ability to explain the rules to the employees in such a way that they can understand not only the rules but also why it is vital they follow them at all times. I possess the interpersonal skills needed to get along well with other employees and management and to work as a team to accomplish a common goal.
