Desktop Support Specialist

JOB SUMMARY
• In charge of all hardware, sotware, and network problem. Provide technical assistance to computer users. Answer questions or resolve computer problems for users in person, or via telephone or electronically.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• PC, Laptops and servers support, new hire systems setups, and desktop/laptop sotware evaluations and upgrades.
• Answer employees, visitors, and clients inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems.
• Refer hardware or sotware problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
• Request Quotation for new devices purchasing including negotiation, delivery and installation.
• Local servers backup using Backup Exec. and for retention data as requested.
• Antivirus updates and virus cleaning, installation, upgrade, and maintenance.
• Finger prints and attendance system add/remove new inger prints, update the reports, keep the database integrity accurate and secure.
• Manage Mailing system, Add/Remove/Update and maintenance.
• Monitoring Local area network and responds to alerts.
• Provide any help to the system administrator either locally or remotely to perform speciic task or request with high priority.
• Develop training materials and technical manuals and train users in the proper use of hardware or sotware.
• Prepare evaluations for sotware or hardware and recommend improvements or upgrades.
• Own the hardware and sotware inventory, Licenses and passwords.
• Internet Links and phone PBX monitor, troubleshooting, ixing and upgrading.

SKILLS
• Excellent knowledge in all standard Computer hardware and sotware.
• Able to deal with “technology ignorant” business users in very nice and professional way.
• Teamwork oriented, self-motivated and self developing
• Very Good commands in Arabic and English communications.
• Microsot Certiication in any of the above subjects is a plus

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
• University degree in computer science / programming or related majors.
• 1 to 2 years’ experience in this ield

REPORTING
• The position is supervised directly by the IT Manager or System Administrator.
